120 countries and territories are expected to compete in the 71st Miss World Festival, in India, between February 18th and March 9th. For Togo, a western African nation with a population of 8.4 million, it will be a first.
Miss World Togo 2023, Chimène Moladja, had her participation made official on October 16th, last year. The Lomé native who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is pursuing her master’s in international trade, transit, and consignments, has been preparing to make history as the first Togolese representative in Miss World.
The 24-year-old student sees this opportunity as a platform that will allow her to raise awareness worldwide on issues affecting our society, such as education, women empowerment, environmental protection, and the fight against inequality.
Chimène was crowned Miss Togo in December of 2022. Her ambition is to become an international businesswoman or a film actress.
